Each morning on my radio show for the next five weeks Ill be counting down my preseason college football Top 25 with some pertinent info about each team. It is without a doubt the most insignificant and unreliable preseason Top 25 youll find anywhere.

#22 Georgia

Georgia has Top 20 talent every year, and they do again this season. But they have some major question marks that keep them out of my Top 25.

Mark Richts offense has a ton of returning talent. Unfortunately, none at the quarterback position. No QBs on campus have started a game in college. Redshirt freshman Aaron Murray is the frontrunner to win the job. The good news is he has plenty of help around him. A.J. Green may be the best pass catcher in the nation. And running backs Washaun Ealey and Caleb King are dangerous. Georgia also has a solid offensive line.

Defensively, the Bulldogs have been a mess. So bad in recent seasons Richt fired basically the whole defensive staff. New DC Todd Grantham comes from the Dallas Cowboys and will change UGA into a 3-4 defense. The Dogs have allowed a staggering 34 points or more in 10 games over the last two seasons. Grantham has very little returning experience to work with. His best player is probably defensive end Demarcus Dobbs.

The strength of Georgia this year will be special teams. They have the best kicking tandem in the country. Punter Drew Butler won the Ray Guy Award. And placekicker Blair Walsh was one of three finalists for the Lou Groza Award.

I think Georgia will struggle early with a new QB and a new defense. Theyll lose at home to Arkanasas and at Mississippi State. Theyll also drop late season games to Florida and at Auburn.

Prediction: 8-4
