The New Guys...First Impressions

We have yet to see if the trades will bring more wins to Oklahoma City. But I can already guarantee you they will bring more sound bites.

We had a chance today to interview the Thunders reinforcements after they went through their first practice with the Thunder. Kendrick Perkins will wear #5 in OKC...Nate Robinson #3 and Nazr Mohammed #8. They also went through the media gauntlet in their new uniforms for the upcoming television broadcasts and in-arena video screens.

All three were very well spoken, and Perk and Nate were hilarious! Robinson going on-and-on about his love for Sonic. He suggested that he should strike up an endorsement deal with Americas Drive-In so that he could "get free Sonic."

And Perkins joked about how all he had when he got to the gym today was his green Celtics shoes. His new teammates immediately made him throw them in the trash. He refused to touch anything green all day. Perkins explained that his scowl can be intimidating, and that he tries to find something he hates about every opponent. When asked what he hates about Pau Gasol, Perkins replied, "everything."

No disrespect to Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic, D.J. White and Morris Peterson, but collectively they werent exactly filling our sportscasts or the newspapers with good quotes. Nate, Perk and Nazr are off to a good start.

First impression? They made my job easy today. I like them.
