EDMOND, Oklahoma -- A fundraiser to assist injured Oklahoma City Police officer Chad Peery drew large crowds to the AMF Boulevard Lanes and exceeded organizers' expectations Saturday.

More than 90 bowling teams competed in a tournament and brisk sales in commemorative shirts and a live auction added to the benefit's bottom line.

"It has exceeded our expectations," Sgt. Cam Douglas of the Oklahoma City Police Department said.  "We far exceeded what our goals had originally been and we're really, really happy with how this turned out."

Officer Peery was paralyzed trying to break up a bar fight in Oklahoma City earlier this year.
