ENID, Oklahoma -- Two Enid men have been arrested following an altercation involving baseball bats which sent two men to the hospital Thursday night.

Curtis Lofton, Jr., 18, and Ronntae Stewart, 19, were among a group of black males who reportedly assaulted Fernando Delgadillo, 45, and Freddie Rodriguez, 26, with baseball bats at a residence at 1114 N. 15th St. in Enid.

Delgadillo and Rodriguez reported that they were visiting a friend who lives at that address at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday when a white Jeep SUV pulled up in front of the house.

Delgadillo and Rodriguez stated that numerous black males, some of them armed with baseball bats, got out of the Jeep and started an altercation.  Both men reported being struck in the head with bats.

Both were transported to St. Mary's Hospital.  Rodriguez was treated and released.  Delgadillo remains in the intensive care unit.

Responding officers located one of the suspects in the 600 block of W. Frantz.  He was arrested for public intoxication and was later charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Stewart was questioned at the police department Friday and was subsequently arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Enid detectives are investigating leads and attempting to locate other suspects from the assault.
