JEFFERSON COUNTY, Oklahoma -- One woman is dead after a motorcycle accident in Jefferson County. It happened Saturday afternoon near the intersection of U.S. Highway 32 and Highway 89.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say 48-year-old James Archer of Healdton lost control of his 1985 Honda motorcycle when the rear tire went flat.

Both Archer and his passenger, 20-year-old Amanda Josey, also of Healdton, were thrown out of the bike.

Josey died at the scene; the driver refused treatment.

Troopers say Archer was in apparently normal condition before the wreck. Cause of collision is listed as unsafe vehicle/tires.

Helmets were not in use.
