Going Home: Kelly Ogle's Great Beginnings

Kelly Ogle grew up in Edmond and lives there today.

It's where, he said, he got his start in sports.  One winter night he and a few of his friends fancied themselves prospective lugers and they ran some garden hoses into the street to create a track.  It was a fantastic idea until the neighbors discovered their track when they had to go to work the next morning.

Once Kelly and his neighbors determined that the luge would not be his sport, he turned his sights on professional golf.  He whiled away the hours at the Kickingbird golf course learning that he was far better suited to picking up golf balls instead of hitting them.

A graduate of Orvis Risner Elementary School along with his two brothers, Kelly has sent his four children to the same school.  Kelly thought the principal in his day was pretty cool because he kept a pet tarantula that he would let crawl on the kids' arms from time to time.

In Kelly's estimation, Edmond has been a great place to live and a great place to raise one's kids.
