NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Sooners received an unexpected commitment Wednesday from four-star quarterback Trevor Knight.
As reported by SoonerScoop.com, Knight switched his commitment to the Sooners after more than four months of being committed to Texas A&M.
SoonerScoop.com also reports that, at the insistence of new co-offensive coordinator Josh Heupel, Knight visited Norman over the weekend for the first time since January. The visit apparently persuaded him, as he called Heupel Wednesday night to make his commitment change official.
Knight hails from San Antonio, Texas, and is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback recruit in the nation for the 2012 season. He gained more than 2,600 all-purpose yards and scored 33 total touchdowns as a junior in high school last season.
