WATONGA, Oklahoma -- A Woodward woman was killed and two other people were injured Thursday afternoon in a one car accident in rural Blaine County the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Dale Johnston, 78, was reportedly driving a 1996 Crown Victoria westbound on US 270 and he drifted off the roadway for an unknown reason. His car struck a railroad crossing pole. Both he and Rowekamp were trapped in the vehicle before being extricated by the Watonga Fire Department.
Darlene Johnston, 69, expired at the scene of the accident 12 miles west of Watonga on US 270.
Dale Johnston and Tammy Rowekamp, 51, were transported by EagleMed to the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Both were admitted in serious condition.
The OHP report stated that all drivers were wearing seatbelts.
No cause for the accident has been determined.
