A collision involving a car and a motorcycle in rural Mayes County has left a Locust Grove man dead the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

MAYES COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A collision involving a car and a motorcycle in rural Mayes County has left a Locust Grove man dead the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Frankie Nolan Bates, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident just north of Scenic 412 on NS 439 about noon Saturday.

A car driven by Phyllis L. Sanders, 84, also from Locust Grove, turned into the path of Bates' motorcycle, causing the collision, the OHP report stated.
