TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa Talons were officially eliminated from playoff contention with an 85-49 loss to Orlando on Saturday at home.
Due to tiebreakers going to San Jose and Spokane over Tulsa, even winning out would not allow the Talons a chance at a playoff spot.
The game against Orlando started off as a game of runs, with the Predators jumping out to a quick 21-0 lead.
Tulsa came rallying back and a touchdown pass from Justin Allgood to Al Hunt knotted the score at 21.
From there, things got ugly for the Talons, who gave up yet another 21-0 run before the half.
The second half was essentially all Orlando, and Allgood left the game midway through the third quarter.
Former OSU quarterback Bobby Reid stepped in and eventually scored on a 36-yard touchdown run as well as another 3-yard touchdown run.
Tulsa fell to 7-10 and will head to Kansas City for the regular season finale on July 23.
