OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City police are hoping the public can help them find a man who walked into a northwest Oklahoma City gas station and put a knife to a clerk's throat.
Police say the man went into the station at N.W. 29th Street and N. MacArthur on July 9 just before 9:30 p.m. He walked behind the counter and threatened the clerk with a knife. He then demanded she give him cash and access to the store's safe.
When the clerk told the suspect she did not have access to the safe, he demanded cigarettes instead. After swiping several cartons of cigarettes, the suspect ran out of the store. The clerk told police the suspect ran across MacArthur and possibly into some apartments on the east side of N.W. 29th Street.
Officers searched the area, but could not find the robber. They're asking anyone who has information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300. Callers can remain anonymous.
