SPRINGDALE, Arkansas – This one wasn't necessarily over from the start for the Drillers, but close to it.

Tulsa dropped a 10-1 road decision to Northwest Arkansas on Tuesday night, giving up all 10 runs in the first three innings of the game.

The Naturals used a two-RBI double as well as an RBI single to jump out 3-0 in the first.

But the majority of the damage came in the bottom of the third, with a grand slam from Salvador Perez, followed by a homer from Rey Navarro to go along with two more RBIs in the inning. Before Tulsa could blink, the Naturals held a 10-0 lead.

Tulsa's only score in the game came in the top of the fourth, when Tim Wheeler came home as Ben Paulsen reached on a throwing error.

Northwest Arkansas was surprisingly efficient with its scoring, putting up its 10 runs on just nine hits.

Christian Friedrich suffered the loss on the mound for Tulsa, giving up nine runs.

The two teams will face off again at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Springdale.
