Fire Crews Put Out Large Grassfire Near Newcastle

UPDATE: NEWSCASTLE -- A large grassfire near Newcastle is out.

The Newscastle Fire Department along with assistance from firefighters in Blanchard and Bridge Creek contained and extinguished the fire around 2:30 Thursday afternoon.

The fire was burning near N.W. 24th Street and N. Country Club Road. Fire crews say approximately 20 acres of land burned. No structures were affected and no injuries are reported.
