Bethany Police Investigating Suspicious Death Of 4-Year-Old Boy

BETHANY, Oklahoma -- An investigation is underway into the suspicious death of a 4-year-old boy in Bethany.

According to police, Children's Hospital contacted investigators about the death. The attending physician determined the apparent cause of death was most likely due to abdominal injuries.

Police said doctors also determined after an examination of the little boy that the location and the nature of the injuries were not consistent with what the boy's mother and boyfriend said happened.

The Bethany Police Department immediately launched an investigation into the case after the medical staff's opinion was that the boy's injuries were intentionally inflicted by another person.

Police are waiting for the Medical Examiner's office to release an official report on the boy's death. No arrests have been made yet. The investigation is ongoing.
