OKLAHOMA CITY --After a 9 month hiatus, I've returned to Facebook.

So get on there and "friend" me.  OK, you'll be amazed, or at least amused by some of my posts and some of the pictures.

And I've been reminded of some of the unique issues that Facebook as confronted us with.

For instance did you know Missouri has passed a law making it illegal, illegal for state teachers to "friend" their students on Facebook?

What do you think of that?

I acknowledge that it's a bit "big brotherish," but I've heard enough stories lately about teachers, men and women becoming sexually involved with students, even middle schoolers, to know it's a growing problem.

Some are concerned that could hinder the educational process in the future.

Seriously, Missouri teachers can still have websites their students and their parents can visit, they just can't chat it up in private on social networking sites.

That makes a lot of sense.

I'm not advocating a similar law here in Oklahoma yet , but I certainly would expect all school districts to strongly discourage their teachers from having personal Facebook friendships with their students.
