Fire Crews Gain Upper Hand On Grassfire In Jones

JONES, Oklahoma – Firefighters from Jones and Oklahoma City have gained control of a large grassfire near N.E. 71st Street and Choctaw Road in Jones.

The fire started around 2 p.m. An hour later, most of the fire was out. Crews say they will spend the next few hours extinguishing hot spots and monitoring the area.

One firefighter was seen being loaded into an ambulance, possibly suffering from a heat related illness.

No homes were in danger.
