I think it's a big mistake to cut the $5000 stipend for teachers who've gone to the extra effort to be National Board Certified.

Here's what you had to say, starting with Mary in Edmond: "I would rather see that money go toward the education of the children rather than into the pockets of the NBC educators."

Katie in Yukon says: "My husband just resigned after 17 yrs. in the classroom, he has a master's degree & his national boards. He hadn't had a raise in 3 yrs. & was told he wouldn't get the stipend this year."

Melissa in Lindsay replies: "Not only did the stipends get cut but the scholarships that some of us received that pays for the process were cut".

Linda in Binger: "It has been my savings for emergencies for the last 7 years. I guess that I will have to check out the pizza hut deliveries."

Sue in Oklahoma City: "What a shame our children are losing out on good teachers because of the way Oklahoma is treating our teachers. I'm MAD!"

Finally, James in Stillwater: "No wonder the teachers are leaving Oklahoma and teaching in other states. Oklahoma Government better get on the ball."
