NORMAN, Oklahoma – Cleveland County deputies arrested an Oregon man for the possession of marijuana, after they searched his RV during a traffic stop in Oklahoma City on August 19.

According to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, 51-year-old Geoffrey Allen Woods of Rogue River, Oregon, was arrested for the possession of nearly 70 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $385,000.

This happened near Interstate 44 and S.W. 134th Street. According to the Sheriff's office, an RV driven by Woods was southbound on I-44. One deputy stopped the RV when it was crossing the white lane divider several times in less than a mile.

According to the report, a K-9 deputy and handler were called to the scene. Sheriff's office says the dog alerted to the possible presence of drugs while searching the RV. Deputies then discovered two large trash bags with a large amount of green leafy substance in a bedroom closet inside the RV.

Woods was booked in to the Cleveland County Detention Center. According to court documents, he was charged Monday in Cleveland County District Court with trafficking in illegal drugs, possession of controlled substance without tax stamp affixed, and unsafe lane change.

Sheriff Joe Lester said illegal drug activity won't be tolerated in Cleveland County.

"I'm very proud of my deputies for a job well done," Lester said. "They confiscated a large amount of drugs that won't ever reach the streets of Cleveland County."
