DES MOINES, Iowa – When a team scores seven runs and still loses by seven, it just wasn't their day.

Oklahoma City dropped a 14-7 contest at Iowa on Tuesday despite racking up 12 hits in the game and pulling off a four-run inning at one point.

The Cubs, however, had two four-run innings along with a three-run inning. They also had 17 hits in the game.

The loss closed out a four-game stretch on the road at Iowa, but the teams will immediately go into four more games in Oklahoma City.

The majority of the RedHawks' runs came late in the game when they were already down big.

Iowa led 11-1 after five innings. Six of OKC's seven runs came in the final three innings.

Andy Van Hekken had a rough day on the mound, giving up 11 hits and seven runs in four innings while picking up the loss.

The RedHawks and Cubs will start the second half of their eight-game series at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday.
