STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The Cowboys have picked up a commitment from Brooklyn power forward Kamari Murphy.
Murphy decided on Tuesday that he would play for Oklahoma State, choosing OSU over impressive offers such as Connecticut, Florida, West Virginia, Auburn and Georgia, among others.
The 6-foot-8, 200-pound power forward who played at Lincoln High in Brooklyn, but graduated a year early. He is still 17 years old, so he is spending the upcoming season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Murphy is rated as a three-star recruit on recruiting service scout.com and describes himself as a Kevin Durant type of player. He averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds at Lincoln.
Coach Travis Ford now has two commitments in place for the 2012 class, as Murphy joins guard Adam Wing of Morehead, Ky.
