OKLAHOMA CITY -- There were a series of small explosions early Wednesday morning at a northeast Oklahoma City church destroyed by wildfire.

Blowing embers sparked a fire around 2:15 a.m. at Harrison Bethel Baptist Church on N.E. 71st Street.  Firefighters tried to save the building, but flames soon shot from the roof and engulfed the church.

News 9 This Morning anchor Robin Marsh spent the morning at the burned-out shell of the church, interviewing the pastor, congregation and firefighters.  Several times during her live shots, the remaining hot spots at the destroyed church sparked small explosions.

No on was hurt in the fire. The pastor says his congregation will hold service Wednesday night outside the church.
