DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- Students at Del City High School made green ribbons to wear at school and at Friday's football game. The ribbons are to remember and honor their teacher, Mrs. Katherine Lopez. Police say Lopez was the victim of an apparent murder-suicide involving her husband, Manuel Lopez, who was also a teacher at Del City's Kerr Middle School.

"She was a really nice teacher," said Mylishia Gipson, who had Katherine Lopez as a Physical Science teacher when she was a freshman. "She always had a smile on her face. Her husband was also nice! It is so sad."

There will be a moment of silence at Friday's Del City vs. Midwest City High School football game to remember the teachers. Counselors have also been on hand at both the high school and the middle school to help students and staff deal with the loss.
