OKLAHOMA CITY -- A broken water line forces the cancellation of all classes and activities at Putnam City North High School on Friday, September 9.

The break occurred in the only line that brings water into the school building. As a result, there won't enough water coming into the building to flush toilets, prepare food or run the chiller that supplies air conditioning to most of the building.

Students have been notified and all parents will be called through the district's automated phone service. A message also has been posted on the district website.

District officials believe maintenance crews will be able to repair or replace the broken section of the line in time for school to be held on Monday.

If those repairs can't be made by Monday, school officials will notify parents through phone calls and post a message on the front page of district website.

According to district officials, the water line problem only affects Putnam City North High School. All other Putnam City schools will be in session on Friday.
