MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma – Midwest City police say a verbal argument between neighbors turned violent when one of them retrieved a gun and began shooting.

Just before 9 a.m. Friday, September 9, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 8800 block of St. George Way. Several witnesses told police a woman named Chanita Carbajal Loud had gotten into an argument with a neighbor.

Police say Loud left the area, drove to her house and got a gun. Witnesses say when she returned to the scene, she fired several shots at the victim then drove back to her home.

Police went to Loud's house, but she refused to answer her door. She lives in a duplex, so officers evacuated the other side of the residence while they tried to make contact with Loud.

Officers eventually forced their way into Loud's home and took her into custody without incident. She was alone in the house.

Loud is now in the Midwest City jail where she's being held on $45,000 bond. She will be transferred to the Oklahoma County Jail. Loud could be charged with shooting with intent to kill and using a vehicle to facilitate a shooting.
