Did you know one in five children in Oklahoma struggles with hunger? These children never know where their next meal will come from, or even if there will be a next meal. Hunger negatively impacts a child's health, behavior, and the ability to concentrate and perform complex tasks. Going without food can cause depression, aggression, anxiety, and poor social skills. Oklahoma's Own News 9 is committed to ending childhood hunger in Oklahoma and you can help.
Oklahoma's Own Ride Against Childhood Hunger is a motorcycle ride on September 17, 2011, from News 9 studios in Oklahoma City to Forman Harley Davidson in Stillwater. The event will begin with registration and breakfast in the News 9 parking lot at 7:00am. Once in Stillwater, there will be an auction (including a Harley), prize giveaways, music and more. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma's childhood hunger programs. Come help us in this fight for Oklahoma's children.
All participants must preregister. Limit 200 bikes. A bike entry fee of $100 will feed a child for half a school year through the Backpack and School Pantry Programs.
