NEWCASTLE, Oklahoma – Police from several central Oklahoma counties conducted a manhunt Friday night for a suspect who stole a truck and abandoned it when he found a four-month-old baby in it.
Police and deputies from Newcastle, Norman, McLain County and Cleveland County were seen searching the area ½ mile south of SH 9 on Western Ave. in Newcastle.
Police were called to investigate a report of a black Ford F-350 pickup truck with a baby girl strapped into a car seat being stolen from the Love's convenience store on SH 9 across from Riverwind Casino.
The truck was seen westbound from the Love's store.
Police located the truck with the child safely inside.
The suspect is a white male wearing blue shorts and a jacket. He was described as being 5' 10" tall with an average build and curly hair.
