OKLAHOMA CITY -- A large fire in Northwest Oklahoma City burned Monday night into Tuesday morning at the Pike Pass office near Meridian and Memorial.

Crews were out for much of the early morning hours to keep an eye on hot spots and to make sure the fire didn't reignite.

As for the pikepass Customer Service Center, there is little left.

The fire started Monday night around 10:30 and by the time firefighters arrived, flames were shooting through the roof.

Ladder trucks were used to dump water on the fire.

The big concern was keeping the fire from spreading to nearby businesses in the shopping center and also keeping firefighters safe.

"When you have a large unsupported area like some of these strip malls, they have a tendency to collapse early on with the fire coming through the roof,"said Deputy Chief Marc Woodard, Oklahoma City Fire Department. "Our incident commander on the scene decided to pull the crews out to make sure we got the fire out with the master streams for the safety of our crews."

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.

As for the Pikepass building, we're told all customer accounts have been backed up and are secure.

We know Pikepass officials are in the process of trying to find a new location so they can open back up.
