OKLAHOMA CITY – A police cruiser hit a man who led the police on a high-speed chase in Oklahoma City early Friday morning, according to the Oklahoma City Police department.
According to police, officers spotted a stolen car and started following it. The car then picked up speed, going up to 100 miles per hour before it crashed near southwest 24th Street and May Avenue.
Police said a man and a woman then jumped out of the car. The officer trying to keep up with the speeding car ended up crashing into the man.
According to police, the man has been identified as William Gasper. He was taken to the hospital but has since been booked into the county jail.
The woman in the car is identified as Mary Wells, according to police. She was also taken into custody.
