NORMAN, Oklahoma – After starting the season, then serving a two week suspension, Oklahoma wide receiver Trey Franks has been reinstated to the team.

Franks tweeted Monday "I'm baaaack!!! To God be the Glory."

Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops confirmed his reinstatement Monday afternoon which makes the sophomore available and able to play in Saturday's Red River Rivalry matchup against Texas.

Franks played in the first two games of the season against Tulsa and Florida State, but was suspended from the team for games three and four for an undisclosed reason.

In the first two games Franks recorded seven catches for 74 yards.

Sunday, OU head coach Bob Stoops told News9's Dean Blevins that Monday he would be checking to see if Franks "got all his work done" in regards to the terms of his suspension.

Stoops also added that even if Franks is eligible to play that there's no guarantee the will see action in the game simply because "other guys have stepped up" while he has been out.

Last season as a freshman Franks played in every game and recorded 29 receptions for 263 yards and one touchdown.

The Sooners will kick off against Texas at 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 8 in Dallas.
