OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma County District judge passed away Monday after a long battle with breast cancer.
Judge Twyla Mason Gray passed away at the age of 56. Officials said she was elected District Judge in 1998, and was subsequently elected to three additional terms.
Following her diagnosis of breast cancer, Gray continued to serve actively on the bench and as a volunteer mentor for other breast cancer patients.
According to officials, Gray was named Judge of the Year in 2008 by the Oklahoma Gang Investigators Association. She was an active member of the Oklahoma and Oklahoma County Bar Associations and the Oklahoma Judicial Conference.
Services for Gray is scheduled at 2 p.m. October 6, at the St. Luke's Methodist Church, 222 Northwest 15th in Oklahoma City.
