OKLAHOMA CITY – At 8:44 p.m. Tuesday, the northbound lanes of Kilpatrick Turnpike were back open, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

According to the Highway Patrol, the northbound lanes of the turnpike had to be shut down at around 7:30 p.m. due to a head-on collision at the Kilpatrick Turnpike and Wilshire Avenue.

Troopers said a vehicle was going the wrong way on the turnpike when it collided with another vehicle.

EMSA said two people went to the hospital. One is in serious condition, and the other is in good condition.

No word on what caused the accident. But troopers said it appears alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
