OKLAHOMA CITY -- Wednesday is International Walk to School Day.
Some metro schools and schools across the state joined the more than 3,000 children nationwide in the walk to school day.
Students in 40 countries around the world are also participating. The purpose is to create safer routes for walking and bicycling and to promote the importance of increasing physical activity among children.
