OKLAHOMA CITY -- About 50 Oklahoma National Guard soldiers are scheduled to return home after a yearlong deployment to the Sinai Peninsula.

A welcome-home ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Guard's Regional Training Institute, located at 63rd Street and North Kelley Avenue in Oklahoma City.

According to the Oklahoma Army National Guard, the soldiers are members of the 90th Troop Command and the 120th Area Medical Support Company.

More than 80 soldiers deployed in October 2010 in support of the Multinational Force and Observers mission in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. Members of the 90th provided logistical and administrative support to the MFO mission while the 120th conducted medical support operations.

According to the Oklahoma Army National Guard, the mission of the MFO is to supervise the implementation of the security provisions of the Egyptian-Israeli Treaty of Peace and employ best efforts to prevent any violation of its terms.

About 30 other soldiers on the same mission returned home from the Sinai Peninsula on October 1.
