The Sooner offense, led by Jones, took control of the game against Texas once and for all in the second quarter.

In the first four minutes of the second quarter, Jones had struck twice and given Oklahoma a 20-3 lead. With less than one minute still to play in the opening half, the junior led the offense down the field, tallied his third touchdown of the quarter and gave the Sooners a strong 34-10 lead. At halftime, he had already accumulated 305 yards.

Jones threw touchdowns for 19, five and 14 yards against the Longhorns and 11 of Fleming's tackles were unassisted while two went for losses. In Oklahoma's past three games, Jones has collected 1,240 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. He currently ranks second in the nation in total offense, averaging 363.2 yards per game.

The OU defense held Texas to 259 yards, 161.8 yards below its average.

"I'm proud of those guys as well and the job that they were able to do," said Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops. "It's a great win. To come down here in that situation, and to win like that is really pretty special."
