OKLAHOMA CITY – For the third week in a row Oklahoma and Oklahoma State remain the No. 3 and No. 6 ranked teams in the AP Poll and OU also held its No. 1 Coaches Poll ranking while the Cowboys jumped up one spot to No. 6.

Oklahoma (6-0) held its rankings after a 47-17 win over the Kansas Jayhawks.

The No. 1 Coaches Poll ranking marks the eighth straight week the Sooners have held the top position. The Sooner received 31 first-place votes, one less than last week, and 1,426 overall points.

Oklahoma State's one spot jump comes after the Cowboys defeated the Texas Longhorns 38-26. OSU tallied a total of 1,173 points in this week's coaches poll, one point ahead of Boise State who dropped from No. 6 to No. 7.

The rest of the top 5 in both polls this week remained the same.

LSU still sits second behind the Sooners in the Coaches poll with 15 first place votes followed by Alabama who received 12, Wisconsin with one first place vote and Stanford in fifth.

Meanwhile LSU remains atop the AP Poll followed by Alabama, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Boise State.

Kansas State moved up two spots in the Coaches Poll to No. 16 and raced up the rankings in the AP Poll to No. 12. The Coaches Poll also saw Texas A&M jump up from No. 23 to No. 18. Baylor and Texas both dropped out of this week's poll, and were replaced by No. 23 Auburn and No. 24 Washington.

Sunday evening the season's first BCS rankings will be revealed. Many believe Oklahoma will be at the top of the rankings especially when you consider they have held the No. 1 ranking in the coaches poll—a poll that is in the formula that generates the BCS rankings-- since the preseason.

Oklahoma State (6-0) will play its second straight road game against Missouri Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. on FX while Oklahoma will host the Texas Tech Red Raiders Saturday at 7 p.m. on ABC.
