OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mayors from several big NBA cities are taking new steps to end the lockout but Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett is not joining the campaign.
The mayors recently sent an open letter to the NBA citing the negative impact it is having on local economies.
Mayor Cornett was asked to sign it but his office says he declined.
In a statement released to News 9 Mayor Cornett said:
"We would like to see the lockout end, but I chose not to sign the letter because it would have no impact on the outcome."
Talks on the lockout are still ongoing.
