Cushing Police Find Missing 10-Year-Old Girl

A Cushing police officer found a missing 10-year-old girl early Saturday morning. She is safe, according to Chief Terry Brannon.

CUSHING, Oklahoma -- A missing 10-year-old Cushing girl has been located. Mackenzie Vaughan is safe after being found by Officer Matthew Piatt just after 9:15 a.m. Saturday.

A search group composed of police, Cushing Emergency Management workers and citizen volunteers searched overnight for the young girl.

"I am relieved Vaughan has been located and is safe," said Chief of Police Terry Brannon. "I appreciate the efforts of everyone involved late last night into early this morning."

Police in Cushing asked for the public's help in locating the 10-year-old runaway Friday.

She had been last seen in the 1100 block of East Third Street about 7 p.m.

Police said she was 5'-0" tall, 108 lbs., with dark brown eyes.  She was last seen wearing glasses, a white short-sleeve T-shirt, blue denim capri pants with swirls on the pant legs, and tennis shoes.
