Purcell Daycare Closed For Investigation Of Child Molestation Charge

PURCELL, Oklahoma – A Purcell man was jailed Wednesday for sex crimes against children. He is accused of molesting kids at his wife's home daycare.

Edward Glenn McComber faces three counts of lewd acts with a child and is being held in the McClain County jail on $200,000 bond.

The daycare sign that used to be out front of the big white house that was a popular daycare in Purcell has been taken down since the owner's husband was arrested.

DHS confirms they received a call on October 19 requesting an investigation into the home daycare on Van Buren.

A DHS spokesman said they immediately put a safety plan in place which called for McComber to be kept out of the home. DHS later asked for the daycare operator to suspend operations.

McComber's wife said her husband is in jail where he belongs.

McComber was previously charged with two counts of attempted murder in Deschutes County, Oregon.  Both charges were subsequently dismissed.
