NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Instead of going to school Thursday, a ninth-grade Norman High School student spent time on the couch, healing. At first glance you might not notice the trauma, but his father says trouble on the bus has been brewing.

Yannick Esquibel said a group of boys have been picking on him for a week. What started as a bus trip home from Norman High Wednesday ended up with a trip to the emergency room.

"My son came to me last week and told me this kid came up to him and told him to stand up and fight. Then yesterday on the bus kids didn't say nothing. Yannick thought nothing was going on," Dion Esquibel, Yannick's father said.

Yannick said the next thing he knew three boys attacked him from behind.

"I covered my face up so they wouldn't hit my face," he said.

The Esquibels took Yannick to the hospital and filed a police report. They said the beating caused a head injury, a facial contusion and cracked teeth.

"I don't want them to get away with something that they did wrong," Yannick said.

The alleged attack was caught on video.  The school is cooperating with Norman police to get to the bottom of the incident.
