Police Chase Suspects Through Del City Cemetery

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two men in a stolen SUV sped through a cemetery at S.E. 29th and Sunnylane early Monday morning before crashing on a nearby interstate.

Del City police first tried to pull over the suspects, but they refused to stop and drove through the cemetery. There were early reports some grave markers were damaged, but News 9 went to the scene and did not find any damage.

The suspects then sped on to Interstate 35, and Oklahoma City Police and state troopers joined the chase. Troopers finally managed to end the chase by performing a special maneuver and causing the driver in the stolen SUV to lose control.

Troopers said they had to end the chase before the driver and his accomplice put more lives at risk.

Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
