Mother, Her Boyfriend Charged In Death Of OKC Toddler

A couple is charged in the death of a 3-year-old girl Oklahoma City girl.

Victoria Phanhtharath, 22, and her boyfriend, Freddy Mendez, 24, are charged with first degree murder, child abuse and enabling child abuse.

According to court documents, Phanhtharath's daughter, Alexis Hawkins was beat on or about her body causing her to hit her head on a hard surface on October 30. She was taken to Children's Hospital where medical staff alerted authorities about signs of abuse. Hawkins died a day later from her injuries.
