Russell Westbrook was present at a New York nightclub early Tuesday morning when a gunman opened fire, killing one and injuring two.
The Thunder guard was in attendance at a birthday party for New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz, reportedly attended by five other NBA players and several of Cruz's teammates. No members of the party were injured or involved.
According to reports, the victim is a 49-year-old former convict, who was shot in the chest and back, and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Westbrook was originally in New York to attend the NBA Labor negotiations, which have broken down yet again and have resulted in the canceling of games through Dec. 15.
