The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a small earthquake near Luther in central Oklahoma.

The survey reports a magnitude 2.8 quake was recorded at 1:36 a.m. about two miles northeast of Luther -- about 25 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

No injuries or damage is reported.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans.
