OKLAHOMA CITY -- The driver of a tractor-trailer lost control and crashed down an embankment on Interstate 44 near S.W. 44th Street Thursday morning, backing up traffic heading toward Will Rogers World Airport.
The driver was hauling a load of gravel, which spilled all over the road when the semi jackknifed and landed on its side between two bridges. Emergency crews pulled the driver from the wreckage and rushed him to the hospital. His condition is not known.
Traffic in the area is snarled. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is urging drivers to find alternate routes.
