Police say a man walked through an Edmond neighborhood and swiped just-delivered packages from several front porches.

A woman called police Friday, December 2, after she saw a man walking down Fretz Avenue near 8th Street carrying a big box. She said she later saw that same man walk up to a house and knock on the door. The woman said when no one answered, he took a package from the front porch.

An officer spotted Clarence Darnell Minor, 32, walking in an open field and carrying two boxes and two long-sleeve flannel shirts. When the officer asked Minor where he'd gotten the packages, Minor said his friend asked him to pick them up. He also told police the friend had left the packages in a trashcan because he didn't have room in his car.

The officer continued to question Minor, who admitted he didn't know who the boxes belonged to. According to the police report, when the officer asked him if he'd actually stolen the packages from front porches, Minor replied, "Yes."

Police arrested Minor on complaints of stolen property and petty larceny. Police say the stolen items included earrings, an oven glove, heating pad, book, colander and clothes.
