The Guthrie Police Department is trying to find a person who called investigators with information about the homicide of a 60-year-old man.

The Guthrie Police Department is trying to find a person who called investigators with information about the homicide of a 60-year-old man.

Police found Maurice Byrd dead in his home on Saturday, December 10, after relatives requested officers check on him. Byrd had missed a family meeting and they were worried.

Recently, someone called Guthrie Police with information about the case, but investigators say the call was disconnected before the information could be obtained. The caller had a Fort Smith, Arkansas, area code.

Investigators are urging the person to call back, but this time the caller should contact the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) at 1-800-522-8017.

The OSBI is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Byrd.
