A social work professor with the University of Oklahoma was arrested Friday, December 9, on two complaints of rape and one complaint of lewd acts with a child.
Police say 54-year-old Dwain Pellebon was taken into custody at his home between 5:00 and 6:00 o'clock Friday night and cooperated with investigators
Norman Police say 54-year-old Dwain Pellebon was booked into the Cleveland County jail and released. He has not been charged yet.
Right now all complaints against the professor involve one victim, but detectives are still looking into whether there were more crimes against this person and if there are more victims.
"We are investigating to see just how widespread possibly this could be," said Capt. Tom Easley with the Norman Police Department.
Pellebon is on paid administrative leave from OU.
The University of Oklahoma released this statement on Tuesday:
"OU officials acted swiftly to suspend Mr. Pellebon from any contact with students and from use of any University facilities. OU is cooperating fully with law enforcement in their investigation. In accordance with University procedure, he was immediately placed on administrative leave with pay until more of the facts of the investigation are known at which time it could be changed to without pay."
The University also stated Pellebon had been out on FMLA since October 5.
News 9 did speak with Dr. Pellebon's attorney.
"Dr. Pellabon denies all allegations against him," Ed. Blau said.
