OKLAHOMA CITY -- It will probably be the best present they'll ever get. A military dad makes it home just in time for the holidays and surprises his children in a way even Santa couldn't top.
Bill Gray is a soldier in the 45th stationed in Afghanistan. After five days of traveling, he arrived home at midnight last night. His kids haven't seen him in seven months.
Four year old Addison and 2 year old Kamen know the best presents come in the biggest packages.
And this is surely the biggest they've ever seen.
The last time they saw their dad was in May. He's been deployed since March and it's been hard for everyone.
"It's an emotional roller coaster," Gray said. "Really, you got your job to do over there and then you got your job to do at home. And you're tugged between the two."
Gray's family didn't expect he would make it home for Christmas, but he did.
The military moved up Bill's leave date meaning this family has received exactly what it asked for.
Gray will be home for two weeks. He goes back on New Year's Eve.
