LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Playing three games in three days didn't faze the Sooners one bit.
That might have been because their starters simply had so much time to rest.
OU swept the competition and took home the title in the Duel in the Desert tournament with a 73-51 win against Xavier on Tuesday.
The win was Oklahoma's fourth straight, and third in the past three days at UNLV's Cox Pavilion. The Sooners never trailed in those four games.
The outcome of the game was hardly in doubt right from the beginning as the Sooners jumped out to a commanding 23-3 lead.
The Sooners were able to bring in the majority of the bench before halftime, holding a 21-point lead at the break.
Morgan Hook finished with 11 points for the Sooners and was named the MVP of the Duel in the Desert tournament.
She averaged 15.3 points per game in the three-day span, including making 73 percent of her shots.
Whitney Hand led the Sooners with 19 points as OU shot 55 percent as a team and held Xavier to just 26 percent.
Oklahoma also forced 21 turnovers and committed 10 of its own.
The Sooners were the only team at the Duel in the Desert to go undefeated and won each game by an average of 24 points.
OU now has some time off for Christmas before returning to Norman to host TCU on Dec. 28. That tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
