Two-Time Cancer Survivor Receives The Gift Of Heat

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Instead of a knock at the door announcing her good fortune, Lindia Ruth will be getting a surprise from inside. She will soon be coming home to a warm house thanks to the fact that her daughter nominated her for a new heater from Deryk Ruth and his team at One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating.

"She's been through a lot, working and still trying to make ends meet and, basically, she doesn't have the money to pay for it," Lindia's daughter, Yumanja Craine, said.

Her mother is a two-time cancer survivor and has given her time and energy helping raise three grandchildren. She's gone without a reliable heater for several years.

"One day it's on. One day it's off," Craine said.

That's even after putting hundreds of dollars towards repairs.

"They say, ‘It's fixed,' we have to call them back, pay more money," Lindia said.

Lindia Ruth won't have to pay any more to fix a broken heater.

Deryk Ruth will install a new one so this family can have a warm and memorable Christmas.

"We got one now and I'm thankful to have one. I'm just happy that Channel 9 is doing this," Lindia said.
